Teens See Cell Phone As Social Necessity

If a cell phone topped your teenager's back-to-school shopping list this year, welcome aboard. According to a recent IDC and SMS.ac survey of nearly 8,000 U.S. teens, ages 13 to 18 who use mobile phones, many in this age group perceive a cell phone as a social necessity - 35.9% of teens acquired their phones mainly to use text messaging while an additional 13.3% acquired them to talk with friends. >>>MORE ...
